JEHOVAH SHAMMAH (The Lord is there) by Pastor Ehi Oboh

JEHOVAH SHAMMAH (The Lord is there)

“It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.” Ezekiel 48:35

The various names of God, recorded in the Holy Bible reveals to us the nature, character & abilities of God. Knowledge of God’s nature, character & abilities will help us to develop our Faith and confidence in our walk with Him.

The theme for the month of January 2017, our year of complete restoration is “Jehovah Shammah” which by interpretation means, “The Lord is there”.

This was the name to be given to the new restored and glorified Jerusalem as seen in the vision of Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 48:35. It is reassuring to know that one of the names of our Great & Mighty God is Jehovah Shammah. This name reveals His desire for His creation & His people, which is to dwell with them and to never leave nor forsake them (1 Samuel 12:22). Jehovah Shammah, by implication means that as we embark on this new journey in 2017, we have nothing to fear, because our God is with us. We are assured of His love, hope, comfort, power, protection, provision, mercy, peace & favor etc.

In 2017, we will be victors and not victims because of His presence. It is pertinent to state that for His presence to be with us at all times, we must make up our minds to live Holy in this New Year. One way of doing that, is by allowing our actions and inactions to be guided by a wholly reverence for God. Before taking any steps, we must constantly ask the question, will this please God? We must avoid taking steps that will displease Him. We must remember always, as we embark on this journey, that our victories or successes is directly connected with His presence (John 15:5) Secondly, make up your mind that you will obey whatever He tells you to do, so that you can eat the good of the Land (2017) -Isaiah 1:19 It is my prayer that this new year, will be a new era for you. A new era of greatness, joy unspeakable, divine favor, divine peace & prosperity in Jesus name.
